developers were complaining about the "slow network".
Did you consider options other than SolarWinds? Who?
none - I used SolarWinds previously and this gave me chance to bring the product in.
How are you using the product and what benefits have you seen?
With the network monitoring we were able to see that the bandwidth was saturated. The services on the app servers were fine, but we did see that the custom communication was between the apps were eating the bandwidth. This was all the proof we needed to tell the developers to clean up their act and lessen the bandwidth usage.
