Check out this post; Enable SSH Putty on Orion Node page
Also, if you don't want to mess with that--check out the web based SSH tool in the SAM beta. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/community/solarwinds-community/product-blog/blog/2015/08/23/server-application-monitor-wha…
Here's a link to a blog that explains how to add SSH Protocol to Windows so that it will open in a browser (i.e. SSH://) - Launch putty from browser | John's Blog .
Also, versions of WinSCP 5.8 and above supposedly configure Windows to invoke PuTTY when calling SSH:// from a browser as well.
those links are part of the Engineer's Toolset integration. If you don't have Engineer's Toolset installed you will not be able to use those options. However, if you only want to use SSH, please refer to jeff's comment about how to enable SSH.

Do you need this to work in Firefox? Chrome? IE? When I've done this, configuring the browser for the protocol <--> application relationship was all that was necessary for Firefox and Chrome. For IE I did it in Control Panel 'Set your default programs'. Make your browser (whichever one(s)) launch a putty connection to whatever IP when you enter ssh://192.168.1.1, and if that works, then the links off of your SolarWinds pages (or any page with ssh://someip) will yield same results.
Just configure SSH:// to use putty. Similar exercise if you were using telnet and/ or Tektia/ some other utility.
