Orion Webpage on Windows Mobile Devices

I would find it helpful for the Orion webpage to be able to detect if you are viewing the webpage from a mobile device and slim it (i.e. http://www.google.com/m) down if you are.  We use Windows Mobile 6.0 devices at my company and accessing the Orion webpage is always a pain because of the formatting and multiple frames.  I am not a web developer so I cant make a custom page but it would be nice if it was an option.  I would be helpful to be able to acknowledge repeating alerts or be able to see current nodes down, or the Top 10 lists, but at this point the formatting is so messed up its very difficult to do.

This would be a feature request.  Let me ask you this:  Do you want to be able to see the web page, or do you want to be able to see and acknowledge alerts from your phone?

I would like to have a "lite" version of the webpage.  Acknoledging alerts would be one thing I would like to do but also seeing information, like the Top 10 page or the Nodes with Problems.  This could even be a separate page with a "mobile" view and I would just access a shortcut.  The problem right now is the formatting of the page not fitting into the mobile device window.  So I wouldnt need to see the entire page (maps, graphs, etc...) but maybe just have the option to add a page with a mobile view.

Got it.  I've entered it into our feature request database.

I would also like to add to the request that this mobile device view be readable on BlackBerry device. We use a combination of both mobile devices and it would really help to be able to check node status on either, via a web page that was formatted appropriately for each device.

Have you tried creating a new login ID with a separate (new) Menu Bar?
If you make all your pages in this custom Menu only 1 column, then it should display better on your mobile device.

That is what I currently do and it works ok.  Some of the pages still dont fit on the screen well, and since I dont code any web stuff I couldnt get a custom page to fit better.

I have a coworker that uses a tool by Idera (i think called mobile manager) to monitor SQL servers stats and performance and it actually loads a client onto a mobile device and pushes updates to the device in real time.  First you load the software on to the windows mobile device.  then you setup the device on the server by putting in the phone number and ESN of the device.  as long as your password on the device matches, updates are pushed out to you in real time.  it works great.  we use Orion to monitor our SQL servers but our DBA also uses this other tool to monitor all the SQL servers.  He gets alerted way before we do if there is an issue, especially if we are in a meeting or something.  All the different types of alerts are customizable so he knows if its critical or not.  this may even be a better solution then just a windows mobile compatible webpage because it doesnt require a VPN connection like i currently have to use.  Its just an SSL push to the device.  the product webpage for the software is http://www.idera.com/Products/SQLmobile/Default.aspx.  Creating a mobile solution like this product would even allow solar winds to do more powerful things since there would be a client loaded on the device versus a webpage.  i would have mentioned this before when i started this post but we just recently started using this software by Idera.
