Feature Suggestion: Orion Health View

I have a view like this created but I think it would be awesome if there was a canned one and one that maybe went into more detail then what we can do with normal views.

IE

-poller health (maybe some kind of visual alert for a failing one)

-netflow health

-server health for all solarwinds servers (cpu/mem/disk)

-solarwinds servers NIC health (errors/discards/traffic)

-APM health

etc etc

  • I created a summary view similar to what you are talking about.  I added:

    Column 1

    Event Summary 7 day

    Active Alerts

    Network Wide Utilization Last Month

    Network Wide Utilization This Month

    Column 2

    Advanced Syslog Summary

    Polling Engine Status

    Total Interfaces by Type

    Total Nodes by OS

    Total Nodes by Type

Top 10 Max and Peak Utilization Last Month

Top 10 Max and Peak Utilization This Month

  • We also have some free tools use can you, WMI Monitor, Network Device Monitor as well

  • Hi Brandon,

I think you misread... Its a request to have a resource to display overall health of Orion with all modules inside the web console.

  • I also would request on a similar note that there be a section, blog, whatever that would discuss performance tuning on Orion/SolarWinds.  I have recently started working with Orion and the associated modules.  The performance is somewhat sluggish in the web interface.  There were a few posts about what to check, but not a detailed enough description on what the numbers mean and how to fix any issues found.  This would be very beneficial to admins as they grow their environment whether that be adding additional nodes, alerts, etc or adding additional modules.  This would only benefit SolarWinds as there should be less calls into support.  Ideas, thoughts or comments?  Thanks much.
