UDT support for palo-alto

We have Palo-Alto firewalls. The firewalls are our layer 3 device at each one of our sites. We purchased the UDT module, but this is not compatible with Palo-alto firewalls.

  • Not sure if this helps:

User Device Tracker 3.4 Release Notes

    Support for Palo Alto devices

Starting with UDT 3.4, you can add Palo Alto devices to SolarWinds UDT and enable CLI polling. Layer2 and Layer3 data will be displayed on the Node Details page. You can also enable CLI polling for an existing Palo Alto device through Edit Node on the Node Details page.

  • SNMP aside, though slower perhaps, if device login is available, can't they parse out "show arp all" output???   Seems like it should be pretty simple, seemingly, the data is there...

  • Bump. Prioritize additional development support to Palo-Alto across the board, NPM for and this great idea with UDT support!

  • Sorry, but I've been down this road already myself. The Palo Alto's offer very little by way of SNMP OIDs available for polling. Most of the good one's they do have, are trap OIDs, not polling OIDs. Palo Alto does offer a wide variety of information if you are poling via API calls, but SolarWinds does not currently support API polling.

Palo Alto suggested that there is a different monitoring solution out there other than SolarWinds that can monitor via API calls. It probably wouldn't be appropriate for me to advertise this other competitor here in a SolarWinds forum, but we are looking at a possible switch if SolarWinds can't keep up with newer technologies and various polling methods.
