Timed repeat feature for an action rule

We would like to create an option in Action Rules for the rule to repeat on a timed basis. For example, if you have an action rule to send an email to a person concerned about a ticket, we would like the option for the email to be able to reoccur on a selected time interval until the trigger condition for the action rule is met.

  • This is for an email to be sent for someone that is not listed as a tech, manager, or supervisor in the system. If you have a department head that does not have an account but would like to be kept aware of say a ticket with an unassigned tech. Since the department head would not receive an email under normal circumstances, an action rule can be set up to email the individual every "X" amount of hours until the condition is fixed.

  • Doesn't the existing alerting functionality handle this?  Perhaps I don't understand your scenario.
