We want to start automating our Monitoring platform - To do this we need the ability to change component settings after a template has been added to a node.
This is an example use case:
We have 100's of application servers that our developers spin up and down and make changes to constantly, at present they tell us what services and what MSMQ queues to monitor and the stats to warn on. So what we wanted to do is create a script that the devs can run where they just specify the service name or the MSMQ name and monitor type and using the Solarwinds API this would then be monitored.
We have a template for the MSMQ values but needs to be given a specific script argument for the queue name and for services you obviously need to supply the monitor with a Service Name.
I feel without this feature there is little point in the Solarwinds API 
and I was very excited to start working on it until I found this huge lack of support....
