A Tech is required to make a Reservation?

We are a school district using WHD. We would like to use WHD to 'check out' assets (Chromebooks, laptops, document cameras, etc).

It appears that a licensed Tech is required to do this. That is not practical in a school district, where the Librarian would be the person making the Reservation, but the Librarian is not a Technician.

I would like to see a special "user" within WHD that does not need to be licensed that can be a user that can make Reservations (check in/out Assets).

Currently, we are putting all Assets that need to be checked in/out in our Library System which seems redundant but is the only thing we can do right now.

  • Normal users can be set up to make reservations. The bigger issue is there is no way to have an end user initiated reservation create a ticket or email a tech so techs need to know to check the reservable assets on a regular basis. We tried to set this up with cell phones we loan out for business related travel but had to back out in testing due this bizarre behavior. I mean cmon I cant use an action rule to watch for a asset to get reserved?

I noted this to Solarwinds early this year when I did a usability study with them.
