The 9.1 capability to filter out selected SQL statements is useful for removing statements with high wait times that skew the graph ratios on the 1st view of SQL Trends that shows "All Days". I'd like to expand that "All Days" filtering concept to a few other dimensions. My next recommended "All Days" filter dimension is the DB Users dimension. If a DB Users dropdown is added next to the Day dropdown on the initial SQL Trends screen, then I could view a graph of All Days for a particular set of DB Users and filter out the noise of non-critical SQL. What is the non-critical SQL? In my case these are the background, asynchronous SQL tasks that have no impact on the "real-time" user experience. In my case I could filter the Asynchronous SQL because I know the DB User name for all Async service calls. Note, I could accomplish the same thing by filtering on the Machine dedicated to Async processing. I can envision useful "All Day" filters on the Database, Programs, and Machines dimensions. But for starters, a DB Users filter would be most useful immediately.
