Integrate with the Aruba Airwave Monitor Platform

The Airwave Monitoring platform provides a way for AirWave to provide information about the state of the APs, devices, clients, groups, etc. using an event-driven (Trap) system. this would allow Solarwinds Orion to respond more rapidly to controller/AP outages without having to poll the network for state.

Documenation on this integration here: http://support.arubanetworks.com/DOCUMENTATION/tabid/77/DMXModule/512/Command/Core_Download/Default.aspx?EntryId=8059

(note, this refers to advanced integration available with other NMS platforms, it would be positive if Solarwinds was also listed...)

  • HI Richard,

By integration to solarwinds u mean, receiving traps from Airwave platform to Solarwinds?

  • Change 2: Integrate with Aruba airwave AWAMP-MIB:configAlert traps

In Aruba installs without Airwave then this information could be populated when an AP is found on a controller and updated that way.

Change 3: Integrate with Aruba airwave AWAMP:downAP and AWAMP:upAP traps

This should set the thinAP status to up or down, allows Orion to be more responsive
