What would support look like? Application templates, hardware MIBs, hardware component mapping, ..., ...? With the Dell EMC data protection suite in mind, Orion could replace some functionality of DPM/DPA (data protection monitor / analyzer) which reports on the status of the data protection environment and jobs. How much overlap would be valuable? (Knowing that not everyone has implemented these additional tools in DPS.)
My initial thoughts would be to discover all related hardware (data domain) and have relevant templates to monitor services/process for the DD, Networker, and/or Avamar. Then be able to alert on service health and some degree of job status. I wouldn't really want an Orion alert for when a backup job failed with 1 file unable to be backed up.
