By all rights we should be using TRS-80 compatibles rather than PC compatible. Tandy owned the market until IBM introduced their first PC and Radio Shack decided to step back and see what happened. Well we see how that went.
We'd moved 100% to snmp-v3 until we got UDT; that forced us to go back to snmp-v2c for our access switch management. I had to build ACL's on all our gear to accommodate it and simultaneously restrict access via v2c to specific sources.
