There is no CDR data returned from the server

I created a new ftp server and directed cdr logs from Cisco CUCM v8.6.2 to write to this location.  CDR only, no CMR, set continuous.  I see many files 17 after 20min or so.  But Call Detail Record Tracker always returns "There is no CDR data returned from the server".  The tests pass fine, I have tried add and removing forward slash with no changes.  What steps can I take to diagnose further.  I did enable verbose, but there are no visible errors

So it looks like it opened the file but thinks its content is not CDR?

Your input would be much appreciated.

  • What ended up being my fix was how many days I requested data for.  I was not aware that it was not setting the reports to my time
zone.  I told it find data for the last 2 hours and even though I know there was data from 2 hours ago, the software when converting time zone did not
think so, so it came up with no data.  I had to wait a day and could see my data eventually.

Your logs look similar to mine in that it looks like the files are there and when you attempt the program to look it up, it shows it sees and pulls the data.

I am willing to bet that if you try this today and keep those files from 20121212.txt in the folder, you will see data by modifying your date search field in the main screen.

    Good luck!

    Pete

  • I tried again. It's halfway through the day and it still does not work.

I wonder how the CDRTracker looks at the time and date on the CDR file. When I opened the file as .csv, a sample column I see that's relevant to the date and time is the following:

    dateTimeOrigination
    1355263580
    1355263833
    1355265127
    1355265858
    1355266714
    1355266812
    1355266974
    1355267626
    1355268172

And it doesn't looks like it is in any way a valid date/time format.

    Is this normal?

  • How does CDRTracker check for the "Last 2 Days" as I have set on the "Load data no older than:" field.

Does it check the time when the CDR file was created/modified? Or does it check the content of the CDR file? If it checks the content, which field?

I've found that there is a conversion formula for the datetimeorigination. So I converted the date and time, but I still get the same error in CDRTracker.

  • Hello,

It checks both - when the CDR file was created/modified and field "dateTimeConnect" and "dateTimeDisconnect" to get call time. You do not need to convert date format in CDR files - tool does itself.

May I ask you to show your logs from CDRTracker? Its there C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\CallDetailRecordTracker\

I see you posted something before but it looks like log from FTP server.

  • Sorry I didn't notice I copy pasted the same for the CDRTracker log.

So the log looks good, but it fails though. CDRTracker was set for the Last 2 Days. I am sure the time of the CDR file creation/modified date and the dates on the content of the CDR file are between the time span of Last 2 Days but still it's not seeing it.

And here's a "copy" of my original CDR file wherein I didn't manipulate the time. Note that this is not the actual file as the creation date/time is recent, but other than that, the contents are exactly the same.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

I found that this file looks like exported from CCM UI, but CDR Tracker expects file that is normally uploaded to FTP.

  • This is to confirm that it did work when the CDR file is from FTP.

    Thanks a lot.

  • We have identified and fixed an issue raised in this thread about case sensitivity with file names. If you download the free tool again you will receive the new version with this fix.

  • I have the same issue, FTP is working fine and FTP logs show that the tracker is reading the files, however it is not displaying them in the screen. I think it has something to do with the dates, see log info below. it doesn't matter if I change it to 2 days or 48 hours, it is still reading through all of the CDR files in the FTP root but is displaying none of them.

Please help as I need this to work.
