As long as I’ve been in the database world, there’s been friction between DBAs and developers.
There’s many reasons for this, but one of the key reasons surrounds performance—who’s to blame. Is it poorly written code? Is it poor database design? Is it misconfiguration? Is it a lack of computing resources? What’s the secret answer? The secret is that there is no secret. There’s no silver bullet—what’s great for one environment may be bad for another.
Join this session where we’ll look at some of the things fueling this debate, like implicit conversions, functions, index underutilizations, poor statistics, and more. And, as a bonus, you’ll be introduced to a new referee that’s sure to help in this debate!
