What resources are available to explain and expand on the SWIS query environment?
So SWIS is the information service itself. SWQL is how you query it, which is a subset of SQL with some SolarWinds specific features.
You want to look at: solarwinds/OrionSDK: SDK for the SolarWinds Orion platform, including tools, documentation, and samples in PowerShell, C#, Go, Perl, and Java. (github.com)
Even if you don't want to use PowerShell, SWQL studio is in that download, and the SWQL Functions are in its wiki.
SWQL Studio is like SQL Management studio, but simpler. It will give you views into all the views that you can query and the functions that you can call and map out the links that can be used instead of Joins.
