Hey there fellow IT Admins and Engineer's!!
I have completed work on a NCM Firmware Upgrade Template. It has been tested and works on ASA's: 5505, 5506x and 5512, and likely other models above and on everything in between.
What is different about this NCM Firmware Template is that it works over your internal network, so for those of us (obviously most of us) who have a vpn between our Data Center or HQ, and our remote firewall's you can now upgrade them!
The template does have a reboot command enabled so it will run through, but you can edit the template and un-check / disable it's use or schedule it as you like. The upgrade itself is quick and varies with your bandwidth of course, but I'd expect less than 30 mins on avg. or less.
There is it no caveats that I've found, just a lot of work on my side and testing with Solarwinds Support. They suggested that I publish it to Thwack and share this prize.
I have no update on when this is will be integrated with NCM current or next release.
