Version 2

This Template contains ODBC application monitors containing HANA queries to fetch the performance statistics of HANA 2.0 Express Edition database.

Some of the counters may require manual configuration, such as setting up installation-specific instances, correcting thresholds for the client’s environment, and so forth.

Prerequisites: SAP HANA 2.0 Express Edition as a monitored server.

Credentials: ODBC Credentials to access SAP HANA 2.0 Express Edition.

    How to Apply this Template

    1. Add a node of the URL / IP (i.e. Hana Instance) which you want to monitor/connect with polling method as ‘External’.
    2. Create a Monitoring Credential to access that added URL ( Hana Instance )
    3. Assigned the HANA Template and the credential (created in step 2) to the node added in step 1.

    MONITORED COMPONENTS

    CPU Utilization %

This monitor value is being calculated using table HOST_RESOURCE_UTILIZATION_STATISTICS.

When sum of TOTAL_CPU_USER_TIME_DELTA, TOTAL_CPU_SYSTEM_TIME_DELTA, TOTAL_CPU_WIO_TIME_DELTA & TOTAL_CPU_IDLE_TIME_DELTA from the query output is greater than 1 then the value will be calculated as CPU Utilization %:

Addition of User CPU & System CPU and divide by sum of all types of CPUs from the query output. If CPU is already 0 then no further calculation and 0 is returned. The monitor value will be up to 3 decimal points.

I/O Read Throughput in MB - DATA volume

Data I/O read throughput: The monitor value is being calculated using two tables: M_VOLUME_IO_TOTAL_STATISTICS_RESET and M_VOLUMES.

When volume id of both the tables’ matches and their type is 'DATA' and service name is 'indexserver' then the value will be calculated as total_read_size/total_read_time (MB).

If total_read_time value is 0 then total_read_time will be set as -1 in the calculation. The monitor value will be up to 3 decimal points.

I/O Read Throughput in MB - LOG Volume

I/O Read Throughput (in Mb) LOG volume: The monitor value is being calculated using two tables: M_VOLUME_IO_TOTAL_STATISTICS_RESET and M_VOLUMES.

When volume id of both the tables’ matches and their type is 'LOG' and service name is 'indexserver' then the value will be calculated as total_read_size/total_read_time (MB).
