Web Help Desk 12.4.2 RC1 is now available!

We would like to announce availability of WHD 12.4.2 RC1. We are working on this as a service release soon to be GA.

This release includes an enhancement to current FAQ's as it relates to this feature request

Remember - Release Candidates are for customers who are still under maintenance only. You can download the RC through your customer portal

  • When do you guys plan to actually "improve" the product?  Been waiting.  Love the security features that do nothing for users.  This still looks like a Remedy product.  You have talked about some things but if you all have stopped developing the product, we should leave now and get into another tool.  This is like a bad date, they said yes, you go to pick them up and it ends up being the address of an open field.  Major let down leading to depression.

  • I need to get this on my test server shortly. Its great to finally see one of the top 10 most upvoted items on thwack getting implemented.

  • Is there  a reason I cannot see this in the downloads?  I have a current active maintenance agreement.  I've looked in the full downloads, release candidates, and hot fixes.  I'm not seeing this anywhere.  All I see is 12.4.1.  When I hit the drop down to see possible versions, all I see are the older version of WHD.  Thanks

  • I have upgraded my test server and the new functionality for allowing FAQ on multiple request types seems to be working! Every easy to understand how it works.

    I also am curious if any movement was made on case 604504?

  • Are we still in Release Candidate or has it been given its General Release? 

  • It's GA they did not make a post about it like previous versions nor did they update the what were working on post so you wouldn't actually know this unless you log into the client portal and see its listed under released downloads. I made a post about the poor communication in the Beta forum so hopefully it gets better.

  • Thanks Typhoon.  I remember them saying it was going to be released soon.  I actually went to my portal and saw the download date had changed so I figured it had been given its GA.  You'd think they would have posted that. 

  • I agree.  I've been using WHD for over 10 years, as I know is the case for many current users, before the product was bought by Solarwinds.  FYI, I called SolarWinds today to express by belief and concern that the product has gone downhill since it became a Solarwinds product.  They asked that I follow it up with an email to their customer service address, which I did.   One of my main points is that the software development and release of new features has essentially stalled.  I also highlighted that many new bugs are introduced in each successive release, and my experience of reporting and working to resolve those bugs with support and the developers has been very difficult.  I don't find the customer support personnel to be as knowledgeable as I would hope, and often get back an initial answer that the bug's behavior is "by design."

    We've got a lot of time and effort (and years of historical data) invested in WHD, and really don't want to move away from it.  I'm hoping that if more customers voice their discontent they'll pay more attention to developing this product properly, and giving us more value for the maintenance fees we pay each year.
