rschroeder-DOC-187108

All this is totally rschroeder content.  I just had to repackage it so I can move it to another non-internet connected network for implementation.

  • Used to do something similar with Cacti graphs and their URLs--customer preferred Cacti graphs.  Same idea though.  We documented the unique graph ID for the interface via a custom property.  If interface IDs (tied to SNMP) ever changed, one might never catch it with this type of solution (custom properties wouldn't have helped with that though).  Potentially some benefit in being able to do as rschroeder  describes via some native functionality (i.e not requiring custom HTML), if enough customers request.
