Data is not available Percent Utilization - Line Chart missing

Version 3

Issue : Orion is showing No data for Percent Utilization - Line Chart for one or more Interfaces

    percent.PNG

You will also notice there is no Interface Bandwidth is been listed for the same interface

    intft.PNG

    Cause :

Orion will collect ifSpeed (Interface Bandwidth ) from the below OID

    1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.5 - ifSpeed

Generated from OBJECT-TYPE definition found in rfc1213-mib2.asn1

    OID value: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.5

    OID description:

    ifSpeed OBJECT-TYPE

                  DESCRIPTION

"An estimate of the interface's current bandwidth

in bits per second.  For interfaces which do not

vary in bandwidth or for those where no accurate

estimation can be made, this object should contain

                          the nominal bandwidth.

Interface must provide ifSpeed under the device OID's only then the Interface bandwidth and Utilization will be calculated based on the provided values .

You can run the MIBWALK as below to your device

    Running SNMPWalk

Open the SNMPWALK file and then match the both OID tables in order to confirm the interface speed is listed for the effected interface.

    .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.5

    .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2

Below is an example where two or the interfaces are missing the ifSpeed therefor interface Utilization cannot be calculated .

    How can this be corrected

This generally happened to the Virtual Interfaces created on the device , Virtual interfaces do not have any physical ifspeed configured  bandwidth as they act as sub interfaces for a physical interface.

    Resolution :

Manually Edit Transmit Bandwidth / Receive Bandwidth

Go to Interface Details page > Edit Interface > Set Values accordingly
