Solarwinds Orion: Website Reports CS00XX Error.

Version 1

This Error occurs either due to permissions to the files and folders, or the Website files are missing the files noted in the error. If the latter occurs jump to replacing the Web Console.

Note: SSL and Smart Card Enabled users, please try all options before rebuilding the Web Console. If you have to rebuild you will need to reconfigure SSL for the site. Certificates will not be affected with a  rebuild.

    Check Permissions

        1. Go into C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\OrionPermissionChecker.exe
        2. Select Check
        3. Once Complete Select Repair.
        4. Go into Start> Programs> Solarwinds Orion> Advanced Features> Orion Service Manager.
        5. Stop and Start all services
      • Services and sometimes IIS (World Wide Publishing Service) have to be restarted.

If after restarting the error occurs, please check the IIS Website folder location for permissions. If you have the Website on another drive other than C:, Please check the drive that you have the files located, and make sure that Network Service has Read at the very least. The actual Website folder needs to have both Read and Write for Network Service. A list of required accounts and permissions are noted below:

If after all permissions have been checked, I would recommend to first restart the server to ensure new permissions have taken affect, then run the Configuration Wizard on the Website only, then if it still fails rebuild the Web Console.

Run Configuration Wizard to add necessary files.

        1. Go into Start> Programs> Solarwinds Orion> Configuration and Auto-Discovery> Configuration Wizard.
        2. Select Website> make sure that the setting are correct and Select Next, and Yes to any Popups and select Next Again.

    Rebuild the Web Console

      1. Please go into Control Panel> Administrative Tools> IIS Manager. Expand Local Computer> Web Sites, then Right Click on Solarwinds NetPerfMon and select Delete.
        1. Server 2003: In the IIS Manager, Right Click on the Local Computer, and select All Tasks> Restart IIS. In the Popup select Restart Internet Services on (Server Name).
        2. Server 2008: In the IIS Manager, Right Click on the Local Computer, and select Stop, then Right Click again and select Start.
      2. Go into C:\Inetpub and Rename Solarwinds Folder to SolarwindsOld.
        • You can actually delete this old folder, but Solarwinds recommends to rename before deletion in case you have extra files in the website directory. Solarwinds Recommends to keep a copy of any custom files in an extra backup directory.
      3. Go into Start> Programs> Solarwinds Orion> Configuration and Auto-Discovery> Configuration Wizard.
      4. Select Website> make sure that the setting are correct and Select Next, and Yes to any Popups and select Next Again.
      5. Once complete, ensure that the CS00XX is gone, then if SSL was enabled prior, please reference this Guide.
