Custom User Links, Modified User Links Resource

These resources simply provide more than the 10 user links allowed by the default "User Links" resource.

There is nothing special with any of these, and they should all work exactly the same as the default resource, only they will allow 15, 20, 25, 30, & 35 user links, instead of the default 10.

**WARNING! THE INFORMATION YOU ARE ABOUT TO READ COMES FROM THE MIND OF AN UNTRAINED AMATEUR, AND IS MOST LIKELY FAR, FAR FROM THE BEST PRACTICE**

There are 4 files for each different resource.

(i.e. to allow 15 links, you would need to use EditUserLinks15.ascx.cs, EditUserLinks15.ascx, UserLinks15.ascx.cs, & UserLinks15.ascx)

The rar file attached to this post should retain the full path when extracted, however, to use these resources, you will need to place the following files in the following locations on your SolarWinds web server:

\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\NetPerfMon\Resources\Misc\

UserLinks15.ascx.cs

UserLinks15.ascx

UserLinks20.ascx.cs

After copying the files to the correct folders, you will need to rerun the configuration wizard, and select the "Website" option. (you should leave the "Database" and "Services" options unchecked)

Once the configuration wizard has completed, you should be able to add the new resources to any page you want/need them on.

I would think, in future releases, the basic/default resource would allow the user to input the number of links to use, instead of hardcoding the limit. (similar to the "TopXX" lists)

Anyway, that is just about all there is to it.

Thank you,
