Exchange 2013 Client Access Role

    This template assesses the status and overall performance of Exchange 2013 Client Access Role.


    Prerequisites: WMI access to the target server.

    Credentials: Windows Administrator on the target server.


    Monitored Components

    Service: Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology

    This monitor returns CPU and memory usage of Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology. This service provides Active Directory topology information to Exchange services. If this service is stopped, most Exchange services are unable to start.

     

    Service: Microsoft Exchange Diagnostics

    This monitor returns CPU and memory usage of Microsoft Exchange Diagnostics. This is the agent that monitors server health.

     

    Service: Microsoft Exchange Frontend Transport

    This monitor returns CPU and memory usage of Microsoft Exchange Frontend Transport. This service proxies SMTP connections inbound to Hub servers and outbound from Hub servers.

     

    Service: Microsoft Exchange Health Manager

    This monitor returns CPU and memory usage of Microsoft Exchange Health Manager. This service manages Exchange server health.

     

    Service: Microsoft Exchange IMAP4

    This monitor returns CPU and memory usage of Microsoft Exchange IMAP4. This service provides Internet Message Access Protocol service to clients. If this service is stopped, clients will not be able to connect to this computer using the IMAP4 protocol.

    Note: By default, this monitor is disabled.

     

    Service: Microsoft Exchange Load Generator Monitoring Agent

    This monitor returns CPU and memory usage of Microsoft Exchange Load Generator Monitoring Agent. This service monitors the distributed load generation service for the Microsoft Exchange Load Generator tool.

     

    Service: Microsoft Exchange Load Generator Remote Agent

    This monitor returns CPU and memory usage of the Microsoft Exchange Load Generator Remote Agent. This service enables distributed load generation for the Microsoft Exchange Load Generator tool.

     

    Service: Microsoft Exchange POP3

    This monitor returns CPU and memory usage of Microsoft Exchange POP3. This service provides Post Office Protocol version 3 service to clients. If this service is stopped, clients cannot connect to this computer using the POP3 protocol.

    Note: By default, this monitor is disabled.

     

    Service: Microsoft Exchange Service Host

    This monitor returns CPU and memory usage of Microsoft Exchange Service Host. This service provides a host for several Microsoft Exchange services.

     

    Service: Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging Call Router

    This monitor returns CPU and memory usage of Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging Call Router. This service enables Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging Call Router features.

     

    % of Inbound Calls Rejected by the UM Call Router Over the Last Hour

    This monitor returns the percentage of inbound calls that were rejected by the Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging Call Router over the last hour.

     

    % of Missed Call Notification Proxy Failed at UM Call Router Over the Last Hour

    This monitor returns the percentage of missed call notifications that were proxied to and rejected by the Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging over the last hour.

     

    Total Inbound Calls Received by the UM Call Router

    This monitor returns the total number of inbound calls that were received by the Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging Call Router since the service was started.

    Note: This component has the Count statistic as difference option enabled. It will return the difference between two polling intervals.

     

    Total Inbound Calls Rejected by the UM Call Router

    This monitor returns the total number of inbound calls that were rejected by the Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging Call Router since the service was started.

    Note: This component has the Count statistic as difference option enabled. It will return the difference between two polling intervals.

     

    POP3: Active SSL Connections

    This monitor returns the number of SSL or TLS connections that are currently open on the POP3 service.

     

    POP3: Average LDAP Latency

    This monitor returns the average time, in milliseconds, that it takes for an LDAP call to return results from a domain controller, averaged over LDAP calls in the last minute.

     

    POP3: Average RPC Latency

    This monitor returns the average time, in milliseconds, that it takes for a remote procedure call to return results from a Mailbox server, averaged over RPC calls in the last minute.

     

    POP3: Connections Current

    This monitor returns the number of connections that are currently open on the POP3 service.

     

    POP3: Current Unauthenticated Connections

    This monitor returns the number of current connections that aren't authenticated.

     

    POP3: Proxy Current Connections

    This monitor returns the number of proxy connections that are currently open on the POP service.

     

    POP3: Request Rate

    This monitor returns the number of requests per second.

     

    IMAP4: Active SSL Connections

    This monitor returns the number of SSL or TLS connections that are currently open on the POP3 service.

     

    IMAP4: Average LDAP Latency

    This monitor returns the number of bytes that are received per second.

     

    SMTP Receive: Connections Current

    This monitor returns the number of connections to the SMTP server.

     

    SMTP Send: Bytes Sent/sec

    This monitor returns the number of bytes sent per second.

     

    SMTP Send: Connections Current

    This monitor returns the number of outbound connections from the SMTPSend connector.

     

    SMTP Send: Protocol Errors

    This monitor returns the number of protocol errors encountered by the SMTPSend connector.

     

    SMTP Send: Connection Failures

    This monitor returns the number of connection failures encountered by the SMTPSend connector.

     

    Proxy Routing: Messages Failed to Route

    This monitor returns the total number of messages that failed to be routed.

     

    Proxy: Hub Selection Organization Mailbox Failures

    This monitor returns the number of messages that encountered organization mailbox lookup errors in Hub selection.

     

    Proxy: Hub Selection Resolver Failures

    This monitor returns the number of messages that encountered recipient AD lookup errors in Hub selection.


    Proxy: Hub Selection Routing Failures

    This monitor returns the number of messages that failed to be routed.
