Create alarm from Report data

We have created a Custom report that gathers data for the month. I would like to alarm when a value hits a threshold and then alarm again when it reaches another threshold. The data I need to alarm on is Total bytes transmitted/Received on a monthly period through an interface. This is in the report but I do not see how I can create an alarm with the thresholds.

Okay, there are three parts to this:

First, you have to get the logic into the alert so we have the total bytes transmitted/received for the month. We have to figure out if that's last month, the current month, or the last 30 days. If we look at the SQL for that particular report we can get more details (Report > Show SQL in Report Writer).

Second, we need to have thresholds. Since you're measuring the entire node's traffic, a node custom property would make the most sense to store our two thresholds. Let's say the first threshold is 80MB and the second is 90MB. If you create a couple of integer node custom properties you can store these numbers on a per node basis.

Third, and this is going to be the hurdle, you can create an alert of type 'Custom SQL Alert' under 'Type of Property to Monitor' that leverages the numbers above. If you can get the first two bits sorted out and show me the SQL that generates that report you're using I can help you finish this one off.
