adding a text file into a alert

Hey all,

I am making alert and i want to pull information from a .txt. file and add that information into the trigger action message.

I have steps to take to fix problem or escalation protocols.  I want to do this so we can make it easier to write the actions and if we need to fix the procedures we can make one change rather than every alert.

I was thinking about using Powershells's get-content command.  would this be possible, or is there an easier way?

Do you add the script of the location of the txt file, in the body of the trigger action email?  is there a way to embed the poweshell script or VBScript in the email?

I see no issues with an alert action powershell script reading a file. Note the script location and provide full or relative to that location path.

I have also tried using VBScript to pull the text from a txt file.  The script works when i run it on its own, but when i add the action to perform the VBScript to the alert, it does not add the txt file to the alert.

is it not possible to add action of executing a VBScript to take the contents of a text file and add it into the notification email?
