Dear Team, While installing NPM & SAM, I changed the installation directory to another partition and the installation finished successfully. However, after running configuration Wizard, I checked the installation directory and noticed the directory reads: "G:\Program Files\SolarWindsOrion" instead of "G:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion". I would…(Show moreShow less)
I suspect that Solarwinds support would simply suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the application on that server, since all of the configuration is stored in the database. I don't love that answer in some of the cases that it has been used, but can't think of any other possible way to move the installed location.

We are considering utilizing SolarWinds as our initial primary source of data into the servicenow CMDB rather than servicenow Discovery. We already have SolarWinds set up and polling our Data Centers. Are there drawbacks to this approach? What are…(Show moreShow less)
Downsides are CI creation for servers built in Servicenow may not report the same as what is discovered. (differences in hostname, short hostname vs. FQDN, different domains, mixed case hostnames, DNS entries, etc.). Being able to associate a support group for ticketing to a specific CI. Just looking around at the IT landscape today, there are so many more opportunities than there were just a decade ago. Whereas workloads used to be confined to a server room, data center or data processing room, today, those same workloads whiz around data centers between hosts while powerful management and monitoring tools keep it all in check. …(Show moreShow less)
