3/13/2015 - WE ARE WORKING WITH OUR VENDOR ON A NEW SPAM FILTER IN THE HOPES WE HAVE STOPPED THE SPAM ATTACKS FOR GOOD! WITH THAT BEING SAID, THIS NEW SPAM FILTER NEEDS SOME TIME TO "LEARN" WHAT IS AND WHAT IS NOT SPAM, SO YOU MAY NOTICE YOUR CONTENT (INCLUDING THE COMMUNITY TEAM ) BEING THROWN INTO A MODERATION QUEUE. WE ARE WORKING DILIGENTLY TO APPROVE THE CONTENT AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. OVER TIME, THE SOFTWARE WILL BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS REAL CONTENT AND THE MODERATION REQUESTS WILL SUBSIDE.

I am writing this to address a few issues we are currently working to resolve in the thwack Community.  We, along with our platform vendor and 5 other enterprise communities, are currently under a wave of spam attacks.  The attacks started in our community yesterday during the morning hours on March 4th and have progressed into today, March 5th.  We are working around the clock with our platform vendor to resolve this as quickly as possible, but we wanted to keep you in the loop on our progress and the security measures we have taken to help catch and eradicate these spammers, see update above.

We understand these circumstances are not ideal but we are actively watching and quickly approving requests that are coming in for new account creation and content moderation.  If you are experiencing issues outside of the perameters mentioned above, please comment below or directly email danielle.higgins@solarwinds.com or maria.bungau@solarwinds.com.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time.  We will update this post as soon as we have a resolution.

Thank you,

thwack Community Team

You are about to embark on a journey into the deepest enigma of scientific discovery—the cosmos. Join the likes of Stephen Hawking, Carl Sagan, Kip Thorne, Arthur Dent, and Buzz Lightyear on your own epic odyssey that is sure to reveal great insights. But you won’t be alone in your quest for enlightenment. Partnering with you on this trek is the AppStack dashboard! You can now bring into focus all aspects of Server & Application Monitor, Virtualization Manager, Web Performance Monitor, and Storage Resource Monitor.

As with all missions through uncharted discoveries, you will encounter technical and performance issues along the way. Your AppStack dashboard is equipped with all the valuable features such as mouse hovers, relevant links for object names and details, and real-time status updates. You will also have useful contextual details of the numerous object types that participate in the AppStack, including node details, application details, LUN details, why a towel is the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Okay, maybe not that last one, but Don’t Panic, there are plenty of other resources for that information.

This month’s thwack® mission is a fun way to find answers to probing questions and get acquainted with your AppStack dashboard at the same time. The mission is simple, use your AppStack dashboard to reveal the clues and answer the questions. Remember, there is plenty of fun, fabulous prizes, and thwack points to be had.
