SolarWinds User Device Tracker version 3.0.1, Hotfix 2

This hotfix addresses the following issues:

  • Unknown Port Names are displayed in the UI for 3Com switches
  • All Network connection report a "Timeout" error
  • Database Maintenance takes an extended amount of time to process the UDT_Endpoint, UDT_DNSNameHistory, and UDT_DNSNameCurrent tables.

This Hotfix requires SolarWinds UDT version 3.0.1.Installing hotfix:

  1. Stop all the Orion services
  2. Go to the UDT installation path (ex: c:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\UDT)
  3. Create backup of the file "SolarWinds.UDT.BusinessLayer.dll" by copying it to an alternate location
  4. Copy the file SolarWinds.UDT.BusinessLayer.dll included in the Hotfix and paste it in the UDT installation path (ex: c\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\UDT) overwriting the existing file
  5. Right click the file and select Properties. In the "General" tab under the "Security" option, Click "Unblock" if present. Otherwise continue to step 6
  6. Copy the UDT-3.0.1-WebSitePatch.zip file to <installed path>:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\WebSitePatches (or an equivalent depending on the selected installation folder)
  7. Place the UdtSchema.xml file in the following locations:
    1. <installed path>\Information Service\2.0\Schemas  (Ex: C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Information Service\2.0\Schemas)
    2. <Installation Path>\Information Service\3.0\Schemas (Ex: <installed path>:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Information Service\3.0\Schemas)
  8. Copy the UDTDatabaseScheme.dbConfig file to <installed path>:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\UDT (or an equivalent depending on the selected installation folder)
  9. Run Configuration Wizard and select the options to configure Website and database
  10. Check whether all the Orion Services are running.
  11. Rediscover the Ports of the Nodes which shows "Unknown" Port namehot
