Oracle just released Java Update 11 which addresses the 0-day vulnerability referenced CVE-2013-0422. Basically, if left unpatched, hackers have an open door to install malicious software on PCs in order to steal identities or make infected computers part of a network used to attack websites.
Because Java is such a pain to update and this patch is critical, SolarWinds is making this update available immediately in its free evaluation of Patch Manager. With Patch Manager you can get Java updated in your environment in a matter of a couple hours, depending on your environment. You can check out this short video on how to patch Java error-free, and if you need help getting the Java updated deployed with the tool, feel free to reach out email@example.com and we can work through it in your environment.
We also encourage you to check Lawrence Garvin’s blog post for more information on this vulnerability.
