SolarWinds Storage Resource Monitor (SRM) Orion Module 6.2.1 Hot Fix 1:

 

This Hot Fix addresses the following issues:

  • Case 908946: HP P9500 - pools are not reported in GUI
  • Case 884602: We are not polling all IPs for nfs shares on NetApp
  • EMC VNX polling is failing in a case of huge capacity for any volume
  • SRM - Problem with adding IBM N Series and E2E Reporting

 

This Hot Fix modifies the following files on the SolarWinds Storage Resource Monitor (SRM) Orion Server:

  • SolarWinds.SRM.Pollers.dll
  • SolarWinds.SRM.Polling.dll
  • Templates\HDS-Hitachi.template
  • Templates\HDS-Hitachi-Onboard.template
  • Templates\HPStorageWorksXP.template
  • Templates\HPStorageWorksXP-Onboard.template
  • Templates\IBM N Series 7-mode.template
  • Templates\IBM N Series Cluster-mode.template
  • Templates\NetApp Cluster-mode (OnTAP 8) DFM-NetApp.template
  • Templates\NetApp Cluster-mode (OnTAP 8)-NetApp.template
  • Templates\NetApp OnTAP 7-mode DFM-NetApp.template
  • Templates\NetApp OnTAP 7-mode-NetApp.template

 

Requirements

  • SolarWinds SRM Orion Version 6.2.1

 

Polling servers and additional websites

  • This Hot Fix must be installed on the main Orion server, all additional SRM polling servers, and any additional websites. Repeat the steps below for all your pollers and websites.

 

Installing the Hot Fix

  1. Log in to the server hosting the SRM installation as administrator.
  2. Run Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Service Manager.
  3. Click Shutdown Everything.
  4. Back up existing SRM files:
    1. Create a zip archive of the SRM folder (by default, "C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\SRM").
  5. Unblock the downloaded SRM-v6.2.1-HotFix1.zip file -- please make sure to complete this step:
    1. Right-click the .zip file and select Properties.
    2. Select the General tab.
    3. If the file includes a security warning, click Unblock, and click OK.
  6. Extract the archive.
  7. Copy the Orion folder, including all files and subfolders, from the Hotfix archive to your Orion installation folder. By  default this will be "C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion". Replace the existing files.
  8. Run Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Configuration and Auto-Discovery > Configuration Wizard.
  9. In the Configuration Wizard, select the Database, Website and Services options.
  10. Complete the Configuration Wizard instructions.
  11. Click Start Everything in the Orion Service Manager.

 

Uninstalling the Hot Fix

  1. Log in to the server hosting the SRM installation as administrator.
  2. Run Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Service Manager.
  3. Click Shutdown Everything.
  4. Restore the SRM files you backed up during the installation:
    1. Unzip the SRM files backup to the SRM folder (by default, "C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\SRM").
  5. Run Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Configuration and Auto-Discovery > Configuration Wizard.
  6. In the Configuration Wizard, select the "Database", "Website" and "Services" options.
  7. Complete the Configuration Wizard instructions.
  8. Click Start Everything in the Orion Service Manager.
