This is becoming a bigger problem as time goes on I have nodes silently failing to backup in the background because NCM is using old credentials that are no longer valid. NCM detects the node status as 'up' because it can ping it or run SNMP checks. But when trying to SSH in it fails I need to either have NCM report this…
Hi, Apologies, another topic here for custom XML/device templates for backing up configs from an ASA running in multi-context mode. I have no issue finding posts detailing the commands and values for entering into a custom XML script, but what isn't documented anywhere it seems, is how the device processes the XML? There…
1. An option to search configs for text that is not contained in the config downloads. I know my overall goal can be done with the compliance option, but this would be useful to do in the "search NCM" dash as well. 2. The ability in "search NCM" to select nodes after a search and pivot those nodes over to config…
Dear Team, Can we setup a auto task - schedule backup and assign the lasted backup to baseline automatically? How can we do that? Do you have any idea on this case? Thank you.
On a Regional site. I have 2 Solarwinds Polling Engines. An APE Polling engine (01) and a HA Polling Engine (02). There are 85 Nodes pointing to the APE and 33 do not back up (53 devices back up). But all 85 devices back up to the HA server when active in the HA Pool. The 33 devices will back up to any other PE in the…
I have this marked as a discussion but it's also sort of a question. I'm trying to figure out where baseline management fits into our strategy for configuration standardization. I may be wrong but the way I understand how baselines work is that they are not capable of "iterating" through a configuration to check, for…
I tried querying from NCM.Nodes table as below: SELECT TOP 5 NNP.NodeID FROM NCM.Nodes NNP But there are no results returned from this table, while other tables, like Orion.Nodes and IPAM.IPNode, work fine. Why did this happen? Thanks!
Hello All, How can I do a DNS server IP address check on every switch in Solarwinds? Is there a report I can run against each switch or can I use Solarwinds to run one or two commands and get the output in some sort of report? Any insight is appreciated, JJ
Hello guys, I had added Checkpoint Gateway to Solarwinds Orion by using SNMPv2 (SNMPv3 not work for me). After that, I tried to enable NCM features on Checkpoint but it not worked. I find a support post https://support.solarwinds.com/SuccessCenter/s/article/NCM-Checkpoint-Firewall-Device-template?language=en_US that state…
I'm trying to run through my node IP addresses, find if a specific subnet is configured, and then set the syslog source-address. If the specific subnet doesn't exist on the equipment, it doesn't set that source-address. Am I doing this correctly? I've tried wrapping the CLI statements in their own curly brackets as well…
