Ticket layout. HTML Emails to the helpdesk turns into pages.

Hi.

Can something be done about the HTML to TXT conversion for the WHD? It’s awful, and probably one of the last Helpdesk software’s out there that doesn’t allow HTML(ish) content of tickets.

Look at email1.jpg. A nicely formatted email..

Now look at ticket1.jpg. Splatter!

  • It begs the question WHY this is happening as I see this forum managed to convert my email nicely..

  • If you are connecting to Exchange 2007 SP2 or higher via POP3 then the issue is with the format that Exchange presents the emails

by default called "best body" which causes all sorts of spacing issues.

Either on the mailbox in the POP3 setting change it to plain text or switch to using the Exchange connector (presents both HTML and plain text formats)

  • Hello Dough,

I agree, incoming e-mails can be "messed" up a good bit, sometimes to a point it is difficult to understand the issue in the first place.

We don't have an Exchange setup (Sun E-mail) and WHD conifugred:

But it some tickets can be almost quite unreadable.

    Regards,

  • WHDs support for customized email rendering is very poor compared to other products - something you think would be easy to add. There are some feature requests in the ideas section but from what I have seen it is not in the roadmap at present. I believe it should be added as just about every company wants to use corporate colours and align their communications with the companies unique design outlay.

On top of that Outlook 2007 or later does not render HTML/CSS that well either..... try opening your email in a browser and it will no doubt render correctly.

  • Hi guys,

Has there been any progress on this problem?
