Proxy settings for Alerting Engine

Hi,

Our Solarwinds server is behind a proxy and I need the alerting engine to send out a HTTP GET, however no matter what I set in internet explorer internet settings the Alerting Engine try's to make a direct connection instead of going through our proxy sever. Is there a way to tell the Alerting Engine to use a proxy server?

Edit the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Solarwinds\Orion\AlertingEngine.exe.config and before the last line (</configuration>) add following:

<system.net>

</defaultProxy>

</system.net>

Change to the correct proxy address and port.

This should work “in general” but it depends on your proxy settings, authentication, etc.
