IPAM showing exclusion ranges

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you talking about an excluded range in DHCP? And are you only using the DHCP ranges within IPAM?

If so, you could just manually add in the 'excluded' range to IPAM itself. It will then scan it.

We exclude IP addresses within DHCP from being handed out to stop 3rd parties just using our guest network on our offshore platforms, we want them to specify why they need the access before we aprove access to that network. We then provide a reservation and update the exclusion range.

If i was ot manually add it and then update the exclusion would this make the changes in DHCP? we are wanting to be able to use IPAM to create these reservations without having to launch DHCP.

IPAM 3.0 allows you to manage (create/edit/delete) exclusions on Windows DHCP servers. The upcoming IPAM 3.1, which is currently in RC phase, allows you to do the same also on Cisco DHCP servers.

So which version of IPAM do you have?

But as mentioned by Jan, you can fully manage a DHCP server from IPAM which includes exclusions.

We are using 3.0, will i have to create them again or should IPAM see them and show this? as currently i cant see any within IPAM

When you create a new scope directly on the DHCP server, IPAM will scan it and display it. You are saying that you cannot see any scopes in IPAM. Does it mean that you can see the DHCP server in IPAM but no scopes related to it? If so, please create a support ticket for this as it could indicate some scanning issue.

When looking at the IP range, make sure you don't have the Filter set to DHCP Managed. Change it to All, you will then see all the IP addresses in the range including the exclusions.

Those in White are set to be excluded from being used but on IPAM show as being available. I need a away to monitor which ones are included in the exclusion group/edit this group from IPAM. I have filter set to all.

It may be worth noting that when under DHCP and DNS monitoring they show as "red" or close to full but under manager subnet and IP addresses still green.

Got it now. You are correct, they show as available as nothing as been assigned to them. You'll have to log a feature request for this and hopefully it may get implemented.
