SCADA Application Monitoring

Hi!

Has anyone used a "SCADA application" used in Water and Waste Water Systems to monitor and control tank levels, remote well pumps, lift station pumps, high service pumps, valves, and chemical pumps?  It uses UNIX and QNS OS.  If I were to monitor all those services mentioned.....is it possible with APM?  How can I do that? Any templates for this SCADA Application?

I'm not aware of any application templates for SCADA but if the device supports SNMP then you should be able to create your own Application template to monitor the critical application processes for this service. I'd suggest starting with the "Find Processes, Services, and Performance Counters Wizard under "Settings -> APM Settings". You can also monitor whatever listening network ports are used to communicate with other devices using TCP Port Monitors and User Experience Monitors. Using these methods you should be able to monitor the application services sufficiently enough to know when there are issues with the application.
