How to show unplugged interfaces?

Hello

We have several down interfaces which we know to be down.

We want to keep these in NPM but do not want them to be shown as down so we have changed the Operational Status to unplugged.

This works great as they no longer displayed under 'Down Interfaces'

However....

Is there a way to create a view to only show down interfaces?

I have tried to use the 'Down Interfaces' view and customise it to look for unplugged only or an Operational Status of 10 but this does not seem to work.

Any ideas?

Cheers

You can create a dynamic service group for unpluggeed status an apply it to interfaces. Here is what to do.

    1. Go to Settings -> Manage Groups
    2. Add a new Group and fill in description. Because the group will be dynamic, it is a good idea to document that in the description.
    3. Click on Advanced and choose Show Best Status. This will make a port marked as unplugged show up if someone plugs somethin into it.
    4. Click Next
    5. For Show Only choose Interfaces
    6. In the right box click Add dynamic Query
    7. For Orion Object choose Interface
    8. Name the query and then click Add condition
    9. For the first box choose status
    10. For the third box choose unplugged
    11. Click Save

You now can use the existing group resources to view the unplugged interfaces or add a resource where you want it. You can do this to show down interfaces as well, just use that status in the query.
