I have an environment of IBM X series servers. Has anyone else been able to get any useful information from these? I installed the latest IBM Director client, but it still shows it is in an unknown state. Anyone have any tips?
Is the node managed via SNMP or WMI? Are you not seeing any hardware information or is all the hardware information you're seeing "unknown"? Please post a screenshot so we can better understand what you're seeing. Also, do any of your IBM servers show current hardware health information? We'd like to know the scope and size of the issue in your environment to help narrow things down, so information like the total number of IBM servers you're monitoring hardware information, how many are working, and how many are not would be useful information. Other useful information to know would be the model of machine and what version of the IBM Director is installed.
Lastly, if this node is managed via SNMP could you please provide a MIB walk of this device using this tool?
Below is a summarized list of all information we'll need to properly troubleshoot the issue.
I will check on all this information. I updated one of the servers to the newest version of IBM Director and that seemed to work so far.
I'm glad things are working better for you now. One thing I can tell you is SAM 5.0 does not support IBM Director Agent v5.x. You will need a v6.x agent installed on your IBM server to see hardware information. Keep us posted if you run into issues with the RC.
