Is there a command line interface for disabling & enabling monitors & alerts? I get too many network bandwidth alerts while backups are running. I'd like to set up the backup software to run a command that disables the bandwidth monitor while backups run, and enables it again when the backup is finished.

Couple options.
You could use a Maintenance Schedule to disable them at a set time.
If you want to do it manually, he could use the SOAP interface. More here:
