Only memory being shown. HP servers seems to work OK but IBM servers look like an issue
From the looks of it this server is an IBM x3500. Is this an SNMP node or WMI? Can you gather a MIB walk using this tool and post it so we can see what's going on?
I've gone through the MIB walk and there are a substantial number of missing OIDs in your MIB walk. Some I can't can't explain, but I would recommend either uninstalling/re-installing IBM director or upgrading to the latest version to see if that resolves the issue. Additionally, if you have RAID controller in the server you'll need to install IBM's ServeRAID software to see disk information.
Hi
Loaded Beta 5 now and while HP continues to work very well, IBM servers are not working.
Can you confirm what versions of IBM Director and Mega Raid Storage was tested on
We currently use V5.20.3 for IBM Director and Mega Raid Storage V2.91-06. All I get is the CPU and Memory nothing else.
Would be good to see exactly what was tested from an IBM viewpoint and what an actually working system looks like. Director is polling correctly from the IBM Director Console and the Raid Software is working with out issues.
We have over 2000+ IBM servers so if this product is going to be of use need to get this fixed and see what is really workable. If I could get same information as the HP DL320 server I'm testing with I would be extremely happy and I could dump our IBM Director Console servers
IBM Director Agent v6.2.0 was the version predominantly used throughout our testing. Have you tried adding an IBM server as a WMI node? Does that return more hardware categories than what you're seeing with SNMP?
I've gone through the MIB walk you posted again and it looks like Model, and serial number are probably the only items that your seeing in SAM 5.0. Is that correct? You may also be seeing memory in an unknown state as well but it's hard to tell exactly from the MIB walk. All other hardware OIDs that we're aware of appear to be missing from this MIB walk entirely. If you can point out an OID in your MIB walk with the corresponding IBM MIB that describes the value from OIDView or the ipMonitor online MIB database that would be very helpful.
I'm still curious to know if you've had greater success using WMI instead of SNMP.
Hi
With WMI I get the Disk, Memory, Intrusion and CPU, however status is hsowing as unknown for everything. More than SNMP I agree but really no real information
On SNMP I did see Model and Serial number. In wMI I don't get eeither now.
I will look to get some additional details. Any chance you can try with an IBM director agent of V5.20.3
IBM Director v5.2 is 6 years old and unfortunately does not support any IBM servers we have running in our lab. I would recommend upgrading the version of IBM Director you're running to at least v6.x.

Hi All just to add to this thread, in our infrastructure we are using 5.20.3 director agents but I'm also testing with director platform agent version 6.2.1
Production enviroment - NPM 10.2.1 APM5.0 NTA 3.8.0
the below screen shot from a IBM server that is on director agent v5.20.3 (SNMP polling)
below is a screen shot of what we see, ibm platform agent version v6.2.1 (SNMP polling)
below is a screen shot of a ibm server, ibm platform agent 6.2.1 (WMI polling)
So you can see I get more elements with the older version of IBM director, its not perfect cause it doesnt show all memory module and the CPU is showing as unknown.. The latest version of director 6.2.1 we get some elements but not all ie arrray, PSU, temperature and this is polling via SNMP and WMI.. any ideas ???
Clearly something is not quite right here. It's most likely missing MIBs but it's hard to be sure. Have you also installed IBM's ServeRAID Manager on these servers? I'd recommend opening a support case so we can get to the bottom of this issue.
