There is one big installer with the option to install all of SIM or just the Managed System components. It’s covered in the HP SIM AG. The only components required for Hardware Monitoring of HP systems is the Managed System components which should be installed on all physical HP servers.
Sam is the new version of APM that is currently in RC3. If you have used APM I highly suggest trying out SAM 5.0, APM on steriods and with many of the user requested enhancements. Big gain is the hardware monitoring.. Give it a shot if you have a test env. I am in love with SAM.
