I downloaded the trial version of Virtualization Manager and while trying to setup the Data Sources I am getting a Connection Failure unreachable port. When I type in the IP and port into a browser I can access the website, but not from Virtualization Manager.
The window is a SolarWinds License Management with options to Purchase Licenses or Learn more which takes me to a link about licenses.
What do I need to do to get this trial working???
Thanks,
Hi lortigo,
You are trying to add a vCenter as a datasource? Do you use a different port than the default (443)?
Thanks
Jon
Yes I am trying to add vCenter as a datasource and we are currently using the default port (443). I have confirmed by typing IP address of vCenter into browser using port 443 and receive a successful response.
Thanks,
Lydia
The only difference from trying from a browser would be the reachability from the browser (your desktop) vs from the appliance itself where the test is performed from - does the appliance for sure have connectivity to the vCenter instance?
Regards
Jon
Lydia,
I am sending you a message via thwack with my contact details. The easiest way is to get an engineer to look into this for you, and we can post the results back for the community's benefit.
Thanks,
Aravind
The problem was the default gateway, corrected that and was able to add the data source. Sorry for the confusion and inconvenience. Thanks for your assistance and input.
Lydia
I am having this problem. And My gateway settings are correct. I cannot seem to find any details as to why the connection failure and unreachable port 443. I can browse to that port on the web browser. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks,
My Issue has been resolved. Port 443 was blocked by enterprise firewall for the network i had the appliance on. Resolved.
