
This has been asked a lot, but I haven't found a satisfactory answer:
Since v9, and continuing through the current v10.5...
After discovering a device and adding its monitors, I return to the discovery wizard and re-discover the same device. When adding new monitors to the same device, IPMonitor creates a new device instead of adding the monitors to the existing device.
Once this happens, there's no apparent way to move the monitors between devices other than exporting the config to XML, firing up an editor, and re-importing.
To make matters more confusing, there's a menu option called "Move" thats greyed out when you click into a device and try to select a monitor:
Is there an established way to resolve this type of problem?

The fact that a second Device is getting created could occur if the first Device was Deleted from the Network Scan results. Having that said, make sure to not delete any items from the Network Scan results unless you wish to recreate all of your Devices.
When a second Device is created, you can move its Monitors to the original Device by using the steps in the following article:
