NCM 6.1 Inventory Job Error - SNMPv3

Might it have something to do with your snmp packet timeout settings being set too short?

Assuming you have snmp-v3 correctly configured on the nodes, and also on NCM, check the packet timeout by going to File / Settings /Network / SNMP Settings.  If your timeout setting is expiring before the job is complete, you might try adjusting the top bar to something higher.  I use 3000 ms here and have good results with snmp-v3.

If adjusting this doesn't correct the problem, I bet Support has the answer for you when you open a ticket with them.

This similar issue (on NPM) in another thread, but nothing in our bug database that I could find.

Although I have not varified this as the solution, I believe this is headed down the right road, thank you for the reference to the setting you use.

I changed to 3000 and still get the same issue, I will open a support ticket. I manually select the node and it takes about 120 secs.

I found that from NPM, SNMP works ok, and when I do the validate SNMP from NCM it also works ok. I get this error in the log when an inventory job is done.

What version of NCM are you running? This thread was inactive for a couple of months. It's possible that the problem would go away with the newest NCM release (7.0.2).
