I am having a problem getting SAN Monitor to run on my EMC Clariion CX-4. My EMC software version is 5.29 and my PC is running Windows 7 x64. The version of NaviCLI I installed on my PC is 7.31.0.376-1. After putting in the IP addresses of the SPs and login information, the window says "Unexpected error has occurred while processing data." The ClariionCliMonitor.log file shows the following:
06/07/2011 11:16:34 [04] ERROR DataParser Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1.
06/07/2011 11:16:34 [04] ERROR Polling Exception during polling: Unexpected error has occured while processing data.
Any ideas on what's wrong?
Hello Steve. SAN Monitor uses Navisphere CLI to collect data from the storage array. The data returned back from the CLI application is most likely in a format that is not recognized by the SAN Monitor. Is the Navisphere CLI you have the latest version?
michal,
Yes, this is the latest version from EMC Powerlink (see version number above). Can you tell me what command the SAN monitor is sending so that I can send you the output from NaviCLI?
Steve
Steve,
I have asked one of our developers to prepare a batch file that will run commands and collect all data needed. He is gone for the day today but I will PM you with the file and instructions as soon as I get it.
Michal

This indicates the NaviSecCLI may be older than the one we developed with. Try updating to the latest version.
I have the same exact error. I'm using the latest NaviCli I can find which is 7.31.03.
Can you tell us what version you used to test with.
Thanks
I have just recently downloaded the navicli version 7.30.11..., is there a way we can connect the navicli itself to check if it is working fine.
Apparently, there are some changes in the latest NaviSecCLI. Send me a message via thwack and I can give you some things to try.
Michal, Ready to test your changes. What would you like me to try?
Thanks
Let me send you a private message with details.
Hi MichalB,
I have the same problem too, arg "....getlun -isthinlun" don't exist with my naviseccli.
So I' interested if you have some suggest about this to work
thank's
tom77,
have you downloaded the most recent version? We think this has been fixed in the latest update. Uninstall the version you currently have and try to download the free tool from our website again.
Let me know if that does not help.
Thanks,
Michal
MichalB,
I've download "SAN Monitor for EMC CLARiiON" version v1.0.0.87. I don't found any other version on SolarWinds site.
I've test with different version of navisphereCLI 6.29.xxx....to ....7.31.xxx .
Is the latest version ?
Thanks
I'm getting the same error as Tom77. Downloaded the latest NavCLI and the latest SAN Monitor. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
I am sorry for my late response, it was really tough to get any information during the holidays. The latest version that should contain a fix for the issue you experience should be now available for download. The version number is 1.0.0.93.
Hi MichalB,
I tested the version 1.0.0.93 and is Ok now!
But it work only on WinXp not on Seven .....
Many Thanks and happy new year ....
