Has Compellent been added to the roadmap of supported vendors for Storage Profiler?
Brian,
Is there any movement on this. We are taking delivery of our first Compellent array. As we slowly continue to migrate away from EMC, it would be nice to know if Solarwinds can be our SAN monitoring solution or if we need to look elsewhere - when the time comes to pull the trigger. Thanks!
John
Can anyone @ SW comment on the status of this? Thanks!
It is on our roadmap as a high priority, will update the What we are working on post as soon as I can tell you more.
If you want to be a beta or RC tester, please let me know.
Brian
We would welcome being a tester. Thx!
I am currently evaluating the Storage Profiler application and would very much like to be a beat/RC tester for the Compellent enabled version. We currently have 19 arrays and we are looking for an application that we can use to manage all of our Compellents, Clariions and DMXs at the same time.
Thanks
We are a Compellent shop and having pretty major performance issues with our VMs which I believe I have tracked down to the Data Progression feature not doing its job. I would like to be a beta tester. We already have Virtualization Manager and I hope to beta test 5.0 of that as well with the addition of Hyper-V support.
Raylgood - curious as to your compellent issues as we are moving to the platform and are about to migrate our vm's onto it. Anything you can share?
John
We are running all of our VMs (about 270) on Compellent without issues. We did have an issue with data progression when we first installed the systems about 3 years ago, but it was causing data to stay on Tier 1 and not move down to tier 3. So capacity was the issue, not performance. A non service-affecting (redundant controllers) dot code upgrade fixed the problem. Generally VMs perform better as they can get more IOPS than they ever could with the few spindles we put in rack mount servers.
