Hi,
We are a small company with customers in a variety of different markets and of different sizes.
A few customers already have Solarwinds deployments on site and we are looking at creating a Managed Service using EOC as this is something that a lot of customers are interested in.
I've read through the documentation and can't seem to find any information regarding how we would manage multiple customers.
How are other people doing this? At present we have come up with a few options. The first is to set up a static NAT from the Orion server at each site through the customer's firewall. Alternatively we were thinking of using a VPN; this method would involve adding a second NIC to the customer's Orion server and allowing this to join a PPP VPN in our network.
I have searched the forums and can't seem to find any information about this or any mention of how people are running EOC.
Thanks in advance,
Robert Brady
Hi Robert--
I'll let the EOC doc writer know about this. Tell me, which documentation did you look through, just so we know.
Thanks for the feedback,
M
Hi Marie,
I have read through the EOC Administrator Guide. This guide assumes that everything is already set up and ready so that the administrator can just add the IP address of the existing Orion server. This isn't a bad thing but it doesn't suit our requirements!
At the minute we have one customer who we are monitoring remotely by having a PC which has a VPN into the customer network and browses to their NPM web page.
Thanks for your time,
Robert Brady
