What version are you running??

Does manually starting the Orion Module engine service resolve the issue? or do you have to do a full reboot?

Are there any events in the windows event viewer?

Have you tried a repair yet or installed any new modules recently?

any resoluiton is this?  I'm getting the same error

Same here.  We've rebooted but still get that error.

That error will pop up if we try to add a node or delete a node.  It also shows up under the polling engine status screen (we have 3 polling engines).

Error getting status: There was no endpoint listening at net.tcp://<servername>:17777/orion/core/businesslayer that could accept the message.  This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action.  See InnerException, if present, for more details.

This is a general message for "Module engine service crashed". As there can be various reasons for it, I would suggest collecting diagnostics and opening support ticket.

Was a resolution to this ever found?

This can be due to multiple reasons, please open a support ticket

Typically this is due to the Service crashing (not started) or... the website was not installed properly or IIS not installed... i would check the services and make sure the netperfmon service is there... There could also be a few other reasons for this as well... which could be an MMC snap-in issue which is usually caused by .net framework 4.0 which you would be able to locate that via event logs... Hope your issue gets resolved! :]

Got to the bottom of it ourselves, problem was that the solarwinds log files had filled a drive on the SQL server.

Yup thats fine.

The issue was that the log files that Solarwinds generates had not been backed up on the SQL server therefore were not removed causing the disk to become full.

Extending the space available on the drive allowed the platform to start working again.
