Map Maker - Server Rack Diagram

Hi,

This is something we use in practice!!
We are doing this for multiple sites and countries and made an overview Map to go to the actual sites
(rack overviews).

I will ad 2 screenshots one with the overview map and one with the serverracks
(i used a 2 rack location otherwise the screenshot will be messy, and i removed some site info.....).

 Thanks for the idea!  That looks perfect.  That's exactly what I'd like to do with our servers.

 I see the overview map with icons for physical and virtual servers.  How do you drill down into the virtual servers?  Meaning, what does it look like when you click on the Virtual Server icon?  How do you represent them?

When you drill down to the virtual servers you get the standard Orion Icons for servers
(Big box for the host, small box for the server).

I added a screenshot from it ,and did the same thing with the network (wired) screenshot 2
(standard Orion Icons, witch i hope by the way they update in a newer version(s).

Have you made any rack diagrams using Cisco's Stencils?  I tried w/ Visio 2000 and when I save it as a JPG the rack shows up but the router images are not there.  Just wondering if anyone else has has seen that or knows how to fix it.

 Did you save the Visio as a .bmp or .png (etc..) file after you created it using Cisco Visio stencils?  I think those r generally the only formats that MapMaker will accept.

I saved it as a JPG.  I can import JPG's into MapMaker. Mine's not really a bug with MapMaker, more of why the Cisco Icon's won't show up in a JPG.

 Try using a .png.  It seemed to work for me...
