I am responsible for multiple network management tools covering areas such as; Neflow, SQL, VMware, Cisco. Orion NPM was brand new to the company and to me when I started my current employment in 2007. It wasn't long we were taking advantage of NPM's flexibility and moulding the tool to gain its fullest potential in our environment. Since the initial purchase of Orion NPM, our portfolio of tools has expanded to include a second NPM poller, APM, IP SLA monitor, NCM and engineers tool kit. Running the various SW tools on a large network requires a little tweaking & tuning but also some creativity. Not many IT professionals can boast creativity as part of their role. Thwack is immensely important for the community and just as equally so for Solarwinds, it has not only enabled a healthy dialogue between Solarwinds and its customers but for me at least, it has certainly motivated increased dialogue. I definitely feel that with this openness everyone has something to gain. |
