| Biography: | Hi my name is Andy Coates, I'm the Senior OSS Engineer at ControlCircle Ltd, London, UK. My duties mainly revolve around maintaining and developing our operational support systems, and this is where SolarWinds Orion comes into play. As a managed service provider ControlCircle monitors and manages and variety of platforms for its customers, so its crucial our monitoring platform can support the core server operating systems, but be flexible enough to cope with any vendor product that has special monitoring requirements (I'm looking at you firewall vendors!!!). Thankfully Orion makes this easy for us, and in the process I've gained a lot of knowledge about SQL, WMI, and various scripting languages that tie it all together. As always I'm happy to share this knowledge, so feel free to drop me a message if you're ever stuck and I'll see what I can do. |
